DECEMBER 10, 2022
COUNCIL MEETING
MEETING CALLED TO ORDER BY CHIEF GREY ELK
PRAYER AND PLEDGE LED BY CHIEF GREY ELK.
MIKE WANDERING WOLF ADAMS SWORN IN AS DEPUTY CHIEF.
CHIEF GREY ELK ANNOUNCE WE NOW HAVE OUR DEED. PLANS BEING MADE TO MAKE SURE PROPERTY WILL NEVER BE SOLD.

Financial Report-Busy Red Bird- Approximately $3800.00 in Bank
Propane Bill due by December 31, 2022--$1153.00
Requesting office and kitchen supplies
Grandmother Rose gave a report on Springfield Powwow. She met with Neil Lawhead, Secretary of the Interior of the BIA. He stated that he wants all tribes of Missouri to work together. Very pleased that some of us have already started doing that.
Deputy Chief Wandering Wolf suggested that we have a spring gathering and invite all tribes of Missouri and invite Neil Lawhead.
Grandmother Rose presented the Chief and the Nation with a new wampum belt. The pattern came from the picture of Nancy Ward.
Becky and Kevin Olson presented Chief Grey Elk with her diamond artwork for the nation.
Eddie and Connie Beesley gifted Christmas goody bags to all those that attended the council meeting.
Melody John, works for the Conservation Office, spoke at the meeting.
Door prize donated by Becky Olson, was won by Mary.
Buffalo Warrior gave the blessing.
Potluck luncheon was shared by all.
Next meeting is March 11, 2023.
August 23, 2022 Minutes
​Chief Grey Elk opened the meeting with morning prayer and pledge of allegiance.

Busy Red Bird gave thanks to ALL that helped with Pow Wow.
The auction brought in over $2400.  Total for pow wow was over $3600.
Tribal Marshal Tony Running Wolf requested black mulch for around all the trees on property. Mowing is going on as scheduled.
We are working on Pow Wow dates for 2023. Working on kitchen help for pow wow.
Daniel White Crow has resigned his position of Deputy Chief for private issues.
Wandering Wolf Mike Adams has been appointed Interim Deputy Chief. Will be sworn in at a later date.
Hawk Arrow is suppling the nation with a web cam service for the council meetings. Hope to be set up soon.
Chief Grey Elk would like to pay the mortgage off by the end of the year.
Grandmother Rose won the tray made by JoAnn Big Heart.
Door Prize—Won by Jamie
Grandmother Rose gave a class on making moccasins.
Next meeting will be October 8, 2022.
