NEW LOOK AT NORTHERN CHEROKEE NATION'S TRIBAL COMPLEX

You will be excited to learn that the Northern Cherokee Nation's Tribal Complex is slowly-but-surely undergoing a facelift.  This includes painting and newer filing cabinets and office furniture, a gate, and many other things --  all from donations of dollars and time from Tribal citizens.  If you are interested in donating
dollars or gifts-in-kind, contact the Administrative Office.

Snap Shots of the Newly Remodeled Tribal Headquarters Thank you, Citizens,
who participated and contributed !

LETTER FROM MRS. CHIEF --
EXCITING IMPROVEMENTS AT TRIBAL HEADQUARTERS

Osiyo Tribal Citizens!! Just a quick update on the progress of the ongoing
work at your tribal headquarters.

As many of you know, your Chief Kenn Grey Elk, my daughter Cindy Little
Bear Linchey and I have had a dream to update the office. Well, it is finally happening!  Cindy and I have been spending many hours on her days off painting the office.  Recently, Tribal Citizen Mitzi Drake, a Northern Cherokee minority business owner of Finishing Touch Construction Clean Up, and her family jumped in and donated their equipment and a full (hot) day of labor painting your council chambers. (See pictures and Mitzi's business card below.)

It took several weekends for Little Bear and me to do the office, imagine how long it would of taken us with a brush to do the council room.

Special thanks to Jeff Jaynes for fighting the cobwebs while he sprayed;
not a fun job!!

I want to thank Gloria Bailey for supplying the Kilz for this project!

There is much more happening, but we want you to be surprised when you
attend the council meeting on August 30th, 2014. Bring a covered dish to
share as we eat in the newly painted room.

Your Chief has been very busy with meetings and phone calls in pursuing the
Federal Recognition process. We would like to thank Nick Firekeeper Kersen and his wife, Marie Whirlwind Kersen, and family for attending and representing the Northern Cherokee Nation at the Portland, Oregon, meeting on the federal recognition requirements. Many WaDo's.

Please remember to continue to send your donations in or donate on PayPal.

Wado to those who have continued to support your tribe.

Busy Red Bird
