🌟 NORTHERN CHEROKEE NATION UPDATE 🌟
Exciting News from the August 2nd, 2025 Council Meeting!
Osiyo Tribal Family!
We’ve got some exciting changes and reminders to share following our latest Council meeting—and we think you’re going to love them!

📅 New Meeting Day – Mark Your Calendars!
Chief Grey Elk proposed moving our regular Council meetings to the first Saturday of each month. Deputy Chief Wandering Wolf gave it a big thumbs-up, and the full Council agreed—so it’s official! 🎉

🗓️ Bi-Monthly Council Meetings – Less Stress, More Success!
Councilman Billy Standing Rock suggested we hold official Council meetings every other month to make it easier for everyone to attend—and the idea was approved! That means six official Council meetings a year. More flexibility, better attendance, and still plenty of time to get things done!

🌿 Monthly Gatherings Are Still ON!
Even though we’re only holding official meetings bi-monthly, we’re still gathering every month on the first Saturday! Why? Because community matters. Join us for:
✨ Cultural sharing
📚 Cherokee language classes
🤝 Fellowship and fun

🍽️ Potluck Time – Bring Your Favorite Dish!
We’ll keep the good food and great company coming with our tribal family potluck lunches after each gathering.
Bring a dish to share and let’s feast together in the spirit of togetherness and tradition!

🏕️ Planning to Camp or Help Out? Let Us Know!
Thinking about spending the weekend on the grounds or helping out during a work weekend? We’d love that!
Please call ahead so we can help plan space, supplies, and make sure everything runs smoothly.

🕥 Don’t Forget:
  • All meetings start at 10:30 a.m., unless otherwise noted
  • Plans can change, so check back often
  • These weekends are also working weekends—bring your tools, gloves, and great attitude!

We can’t wait to see your smiling faces, hear your stories, and celebrate our shared heritage. Your voice matters. Your presence makes a difference.
Let’s grow, laugh, and lead together—see you there!
