If you have moved, changed your email or phone number, we need it for our records. If you have changed your name, we need your new information.
You can download the form from the CONTACT PAGE here on the website. If you can't do that, you can call the Northern Cherokee Nation office at 660-885-7779 and we can send you a form.

10/12/2024
Meeting called to order by Speaker of Council Running Wolf
Pledge of Allegiance and Prayer led by Chief Grey Elk

Chief Grey Elk announced he was very pleased with the powwow and enjoyed watching the auction in the building.
Speaker of Council Running Wolf announced the drum stand is down in preparation for building a new one. Will need help after the meeting to finish cleaning up debris.
Deputy Chief Wandering Wolf said the auction at powwow did awesome.
Chief Grey Elk announced we will be at the Polk County Museum event on June 7, 2025. Everyone is welcome to join in.
Powwow was a huge success. We did better this year than we have ever done. Many thanks to all those that participated.

New Business: Protocol Procedure was handed out to all at the meeting. Read and bring back to the November meeting with your questions.
Ideas were discussed about 2025 powwow.

Grandmother Rose announced that Samantha Adams represented our tribe very well as the Northern Cherokee Princess of 2024.
The drawing was won by Little Hawk. King size blanket was donated by Truth Seeker.

Speaker of Council Running Wolf asks all those that could stay after the meeting to help with cleaning of the entire council house. Many hands make light work.
Speaker of Council Running Wolf has acquired a donation of framing and bolts for our drum stand! This will cut our costs significantly.
The work crew hopes to have the shower house and drum stand done by Pow Wow of 2025.

Protocol lessons were led by Speaker of Council Running Wolf
December meeting, we will start going over the constitution of the Northern Cherokee Nation. Copies will be available for those that would like one.
Powwow plans are already being made for 2025. Crystal Wolf has started talking to the Dickerson Park Zoo to get them scheduled for next year.
Busy Red Bird won the door prize.
Potluck luncheon was shared by all.
Many thanks to all those who helped with cleaning of the Council House!
Next meeting is our Christmas meeting December 14, 2024. Ham and turkey will be provided, so bring those tasty dishes to share.
This is the last meeting of 2024, so plan on attending.
New meetings will start weather permitting February 8, 2025 or March 8, 2025.
